Laura Durham – Author

Weddings are murder. Trust Laura, she was a wedding planner for 25 years and, boy, does she have the stories to prove it! She was inspired to write the Annabelle Archer mystery series because of an overwhelming desire to kill a particularly unpleasant Mother-of-the-Bride, or MOB. The resulting fictionalized expose of theWashington wedding industry has been called “the perfect mixture of mirth and murder.” BETTER OFF WED won the Agatha Award for Best First Novel.

Patricia McLinn – Author

Patricia McLinn’s books have put her name on bestseller lists and her journalism career took her to The Washington Post for over 20 years.

But the dream of writing fiction kept calling. And journalism proved an excellent training ground, with enduring lessons in clarity, dialogue, research, drama, deadlines, conflict. Plus, it provided lots of characters. Lots and lots of characters.

Patricia has published more than 60 novels, with the characters for many more impatiently tapping their feet in the waiting room. Her books often include dry humor in exploring the resilience of people – whether in murder mysteries, romance, romantic suspense or women’s fiction.

Kate P Adams – Author

After 25 years working in some of England’s finest buildings, Kate P. Adams has turned to murder.

Kate grew up in Derbyshire, the setting for the Charleton House Mysteries, and went on to work in theatres around the country, the Natural History Museum – London, the University of Oxford and Hampton Court Palace. Every day she explored darkened corridors and rooms full of history behind doors the public never get to enter. Kate spent years in these beautiful buildings listening to fantastic tales, wondering where the bodies were hidden, and hoping that she’d run into a ghost or two.

Kate has an unhealthy obsession with finding the perfect cup of coffee, enjoys a gin and tonic, and is managed by Pumpkin, a domineering tabby cat who is a little on the large side. Now that she lives in the USA, writing the Charleton House Mysteries allows Kate to go home to her beloved Derbyshire every day, in her head at least.

Mike Kingston – Author

Mike Kingston has spent much of his career carrying out investigations throughout the world for many organisations – from worldwide media companies to multi-national corporations and global law firms. He has been writing about and investigating corruption, espionage and conspiracy for more than 30 years.

His books reflect events he has encountered and the amazing characters, both courageous and depraved, he has met along the way.

Underlying his words is an enormous respect for the resilience of the human spirit in surviving heartbreaking situations and managing to live meaningful and fulfilling lives, often in desperate circumstances.

Meryl Yourish – Author

Meryl Yourish has managed to turn her love of cats and reading fantasy into creating a fictional world where cats have human intelligence and magical powers. It’s no coincidence that some of the major Catmages look remarkably like cats that are or were in her life. The Catmage Chronicles is the first published part of that world.

When she’s not writing about Catmages, she’s working on fantasy novels.

Meryl sometimes calls herself “a one-woman publishing house.” She has an extensive background in typesetting, desktop publishing, editing, copy editing, proofreading, and web production, as well as a smattering of programming. But her true love has always been the written word, both writing and reading.

She is currently writing a three-part prequel series to The Catmage Chronicles, has a three-part sequel series plotted out, and a standalone Catmage novel set in 19th century Russia is in progress.
